SAM5704B

Typical Application

Low cost Digital Pianos & Keyboard instruments, Effect devices

Overview

Low-cost Effect Processor and Keyboard Synthesizer

The SAM5704B is a member of the SAM5000 family of sound synthesis and audio processing ICs that uses the DSP array technology. The SAM5704B includes four 24-bit DSPs, a general-purpose 16-bit CPU, a 24-bit Audio Router and a multi-channel audio DMA. With four DSP cores, the SAM5704B allows 81-polyphony sound synthesis with effects generation.

Delivered in a cost-efficient 128-pin QFP package, the SAM5704B provides up to 16-input/16-output audio channels and all communication and user interfaces required for supporting low cost keyboard, effect and professional audio applications.

USB VID-PID Guidelines

USB VID-PID Guidlines.pdf (3 pages)
There are identification and certification options when designing a USB product with DREAM chips. Choices are USB-Implementers Forum assigned Vendor ID with OEM-assigned Product ID or DREAM Vendor ID with DREAM-assigned Product ID. This document outlines these options and identifies requirements for obtaining various certifications.

Migrate from SAM5704 to SAM5704B

AN_5704B_MigrateFromSAM5704toSAM5704B.pdf (4 pages)

SAM5704B is a shrunk, low-power, version of SAM5704. Backward compatibility of standard designs based on SAM5704 is normally ensured. However, before migration, it is safe to check that the minor differences between SAM5704 and SAM5704B will be supported in each design.
